This is the part where I talk about myself

My origin story, I’m a superhero... Joking of course. I wasn’t bitten by a spider, or born on an alien planet. I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. I spent my youth running the streets, collecting insects, spiders, chasing squirrels, playing Pokémon, a lot of Pokémon. I spent most of my teenage years skateboarding and doing BMX. I spent most of my time outside, exploring the world. What I did not do was spend most of my time drawing.

Art came into my life when I was 22. I had spent three years working at UPS and failed my package car driving exam. Damn, granny gear. I had all these pent-up emotions from my failure and had no way of expressing it. I started drawing for some reason. I’ll never know what made me start drawing that day, but I will never regret that decision.

Another big failure happened, I was rejected from art school, oh no. My grades from high school were terrible, I can’t emphasize that enough, terrible. So, instead of attending art school, I went to Columbus State Community College.

After graduating with a 3.8 GPA and honors, and a new and improved portfolio, Columbus College of Art and Design could no longer turn me down. My journey through CCAD has had its ups and downs. I graduated from CCAD with a 3.6 GPA and honors.

My obsession of creatures has its roots in what I was interested in as a child. Pokémon, Monster Hunter, insects, lizards, dogs, cats, you name it. I was into it if it was a real-world animal or a fake creature. And I still am into it, now more than ever before. I want to make stories that involve my creatures, something that produces a strong emotion.

My wonderful family. My wife and I have been together for almost 11 years now. We just had our son Lucas last march, he is 13 months old currently. We call him Luke and yes I tell him I am his father, dad joke perfection.
